Community Guidelines

A few straightforward rules to keep Crete Community useful, trustworthy, and respectful.

Local Relevance

Post things that genuinely matter to Crete

Crete Community is for local opportunities, local needs, and local people. The closer a post is to everyday life in Crete, the better it fits here.

Jobs, services, events, housing, cars, and food are all a natural fit. Broad advertising blasts, unrelated promotions, and posts aimed at a national audience are not.

Honesty

Say what it is, price it clearly, and describe it accurately

Trust is hard to build and easy to lose. Clear titles, real pricing, accurate photos, and honest descriptions make the platform better for everyone.

Do not post fake urgency, misleading terms, invented availability, or contact details that go nowhere. If something has limits, conditions, or important context, say so.

If the listing would frustrate a neighbor after the first message, it probably needs to be rewritten.

Respect

Treat people like neighbors, not targets

Even when people are buying, selling, hiring, or negotiating, the tone should stay respectful.

Harassment, insults, discriminatory language, intimidation, or manipulative behavior do not belong here. That applies to listings, replies, and follow-up communication.

No Spam Or Scams

Do not flood the site or use it to deceive people

Crete Community uses spam protection and moderation tools, but the clearest standard is still common sense.

Repetitive posts, fake opportunities, suspicious payment requests, impersonation, bait-and-switch pricing, and phishing-style contact behavior are grounds for removal.

Enforcement

Posts may be edited, hidden, or removed when they cross the line

The site is intended to stay open and easy to use, but not at the expense of safety or usefulness.

If a listing breaks these guidelines, Crete Community may hide it, deactivate it, or remove it entirely. In some cases, the team may reach out for clarification. In others, especially for obvious spam or fraud, the content may come down immediately.
